The Boss of Me

by Leslie

While on the phone setting up services for our new home, a customer service representative asked me, “Your employer’s name, please?”

I said, “I’m a stay-at-home mom.”  After a brief pause I added, “I can give you my daughter’s name.  She’s my boss.”  (The customer service representative didn’t really find that amusing.)

As I sit here now, typing this with a headband and a cowboy hat on my head, 4 necklaces and a turquois feather boa around my neck, along with Scooby Doo, Mickey Mouse and a ballerina cow in my lap, I know it’s no joke.

She really is the boss of me.

I will come by again tomorrow for the SCH. I’ve been at stay-at-home mom for 19 years and never regretted it. I’m just now doing some part-time jobs in the school system, so I’m home on school holidays. I have two boys. One just started college this fall and the other just started middle school. They are 6 yrs apart. It’s a wonderful job and the pay in hugs is nonreplaceable.
