I thought the hard part of the weight loss thing, for me, would be getting up early to exercise. So far, that’s going good. The hard thing has been resisting the temptation to snack.

Last night, I wrote some Haiku while battling my worst-ever case of The Munchies. (For the record, I did not munch.)

Chocolate Santa
Sitting on the cupboard shelf
I long to eat you

Magic made by elves
Delicious fudge stripe cookies
I hear you calling

Say, “Eat some Wheat Thins?”
Wheat Thins that don’t make you thin
If you eat hundreds

Icing in a tube
Soft, white, sweet seduction
How you tempt my soul

Dieting sucks ass
I am so hungry that I
Could eat my own head

Very creative. I don’t know why, but also get craving for snacks at night. BTW, I hope you don’t eat your head. And if you do, can you have hubby post a photo?

    That last one cracked.me.up.

Oh, and had to share with you a super yummy snack I just discovered…Special K bars. They have some new honey nut ones and ohmigod are those ever good…they’re like crack in cereal bar form, though…watch out. Only 90 calories per bar, but I tend to eat 3 or 4 bars in the span of an hour. Darn it.

I had to throw away a bunch of holiday cookies and candy because I knew I wouldn’t be able to resist it. I also had to take it out to the garbage right away, because I am totally that girl who throws away a bag of chips and then pulls it out of the trashcan an hour later and eats them. I call it “dumpster dieting”.

I haven’t been to the grocery store in about a week, and that’s turning out to be a fairly good dieting strategy, too. Even if dinner comes from Taco Bell, once the Taco Bell is gone, there’s nothing else that sounds good, and I’m too lazy to leave the house again.

Man, I should write a book with this…

Hang in there. Hunger makes you more creative ;-)

There is no candy, no chocolate and no goodies in this house other than a pack of bugglegum and rice cakes. I’m going crazy but I have to endure it for the food allergies.

Last night I broke down and picked up a dove special dark chocolate bar. I got one piece and the boys gobbled up the rest. Luckily, it didnt have HFCS, milk, soy, or peanuts in it and he could eat it. Yay! I’ll have to go buy a whole bag.

Dieting is hard as I’ve heard my husband say a thousand times. I guess its just as hard as eating healthy like I’m trying to do and that whole running post I did well that’s crap becuase I havent had time to do it yet. He diets regularly. He is currently dieting to lose 40 pounds. He’s lost almost 20 I think. His tip is to drink lots and lots of water and cut out the nighttime snacks.

Hang in there and good luck.

    I LOVE the last one.

You can do it. Just stay strong.

A tip I learned that has worked really good is when you want to snack, drink half a glass of water. If you are still craving something five mintues later, eat a celery stick or carrot. Then after 10 minutes, you still want the thing you are craving, taste just a little bit and drink another half glass of water.

It may or may not work for you, but i wanted to throw it out there in case it might.

Love the haiku, you summed up this whole experience that I am going through too!! Though i am really enjoying the extra energy, and I have gift certificates for my fav store and don’t want to spend them on clothes I am going to outgrow too fast, so rewards are good too!

My stomach is growling as I type. I’m trying not to think of the coconut cream cake downstairs. Sigh.
