We have a new family member. Meet Jasper:

I know what you’re thinking, “Another cat? Don’t you have, like, a million? And aren’t you allergic, you damn fool?”
And I say, yeah.
And you’re wondering how this happened. I’ll give you the short version: I’m a sucker.
That’s also why I’ve let my 3-year old take over my iPod. (Click here for 37 seconds of Julia listening to her new favorite song “Fox on the Run” by Sweet.)
While visiting family over the weekend, I learned that Jasper had been slated for either A) death by gunshot or B) abandonment in the middle of nowhere. My mother and I suggested secret option C) Jasper comes to live in our happy home.
Now he’s here. And he’s wonderful. I love Jasper!
So does Julia.

If you ask Dave about it, he’ll grumble a little. But look at this:

Dave loves Jasper, too.
And yes, Dave is wearing a shirt that says:
The Man. The Myth.
The Legend.
Oh baby, is he ever.

14 Cool Kids Came To Play

This looks just like our cat Molly. I love black kitties with bright green eyes.
He’s beautiful. The cat… not Dave. Not that Dave’s not beautiful … It’s just that…. Oh nevermind…. I’m just going to stop now.
*DUCKING FOR COVER* I don’t like cats… did you see the photo on my blog yesterday????
I was totally going to ask what Dave’s shirt said. LOL! And, um, is it weird that my MOM bought Cleatus a pair of boxers for Christmas (she gets him a different pair every year) that say The Man (finger pointing up towards his face) The Legend (finger pointing to his weiner). Yes, its weird. But, I picked them out and made her do it. Ya should have seen his face!
I’m with Chris H about cats but that is very sweet of you to rescue Jasper from near death!
I would have just called the post “Jasper”… cuz I’m very generic like that. I love cats, Jon hates them. We have neighborhood cats that just kind of wander. When they come into my yard, I pretend that they are mine. *sigh* It’s sad.
Congrats on the new addition. We have 4 cats, 1 dog and my cherubs are adopted from Korea. We call our home “The house for strays and refugees.” Granted it was funnier before we adopted the kids. We like to think we have lots of love to give…otehrwise animals jsut choose our yard to die and we nurse htem back to health!
Cute blog!
First you answer my question my reading my mind, then you show a picture of Dave with a slogan just like my mine. Except I have another line at the end: “Coming soon to a theater near you.”
I simply must have a DAVE shirt. Where did you find it? I have a brother Dave for whom it would be a perfect gift.
Perfect, I tell ya.
Anyway, I love the kitty but the photo is as close as I can get to snuggling him without my eyes swelling shut. Just how does an allergic person live with so many cats? I really want to know because I love them, but I cannot live with them. My kids have considered turning me in and instead of a mom having a cat in the house. It’s good to know one’s place in the world.
I must say, I love the title of this post too.
hehe.
um…. did Karly just say “weiner”?
We have 3 cats & my fave is our black one. His name is Shadow. He came to us by accident but we soon realized that this was where he was meant to be.
Oh, Jasper is a beauty! and I agree with Jenn… my DH is Dave, too. Did you have it made or can one find it somewhere? LOL… what we do for our men.
Oh! And that clip of Julia is SO cute!
He is absolutely gorgeous, I have a totaly soft spot for black cats.
