Watermelon fruit baskets were all the rage at picnics when I was a kid. The cool moms always made them. I once told my seven-year-old self that one day, when I was a mom, I’d make cool watermelon baskets just like that.

Today, I made the seven-year-old in me happy. I made my first watermelon basket. I used this how-to video as a guide.

I actually think it’s easier to cut a watermelon basket than it is to just cut up the whole watermelon. So, it’s watermelon baskets from here on out for me.

I am sooo impressed. I saw someone do a fruit kabob coming out of a watermelon that looked like a floral arrangement. Loved it. Never been good a fruit sculpture, but I’ll go check out the video.

Okay… you get no sympathy from me on the house stuff if you can crank out stuff like this. You see my house is messy AND I can’t crank out stuff like this. (My food messes do taste good, though - maybe that’s my saving grace).
