Optimism

When our neighbor down the street met Lucy for the first time, he said, “She’s a cute one, but Leslie, it’s a horrible world to bring a child into.”

I said, “Perhaps she’s the one that will change that.”

you make me believe
anything is possible
my child, you are hope

I was very excited to share the news that I was pregnant. When I told one person in particular I was given a similar response…”How could you bring a child into this world?” I think you are right, the children of the world now could be the ones that change this “horrible” world.

What a sad thing to say! I guess it’s all in how you look at things isn’t it? I love your response to her. There are so many good and beautiful things. All depends on your outlook.

My old neighbor said that to me when I was pregnant with my daughter–as in we won’t have kids because the world is so bad.

I wasn’t sure how to take it. Um… kinda too late?
