Kickin’ It Bucket Style
by Leslie
I read Lisa Morrow’s BlogHer post about making a family bucket list and decided this was something I really wanted to do with my family. So, after dinner this evening, we did. Here are the things we hope to do together this year.
- Play Uno.
- Camp out.
- Plan and plant a garden.
- Eat out.
- Get a family portrait taken.
- Go geocaching and have a picnic.
- Put together more puzzles.
- Get a new pet for the family. (This was Julia’s. She’s the ony one that believes our 1,462 cats, 1 dog and 7 fish aren’t enough.)
- Eat ice cream.
- Go to a water park.
- Go to COSI.
- Spend a day in Dresden.
- Go to the mall and not buy anything. Except maybe Auntie Anne’s.
- Spend the day at a lake.
- Go to the McKinley Museum.
- Put more pictures on the walls.
- Get a plant.
- Borrow a movie from the library.
- Do a science experiment.
- Build a bird house and hang it up high.
That seems reasonable.

Dresden the German city? That would be an awesome goal casually slipped on the list
I want to try geocaching too! I love this idea and your list is very inspirational.
Goofball – Dresden, Ohio. It’s only the basket captial of the world!!!! Or maybe just the U.S. I’m not sure. But it’s the kind of place old ladies who wear hats go. I LOVE it.
Your family bucket list is waaay better than New Year’s Resolutions which are usually about not doing stuff ~ like not eating too much ~ that it’s refreshing. Our family’s personal favorites are playing Uno and doing more puzzles. Even though my boys are in their teens we still find time to play games. I would like to do more puzzles though, which we usually do at parties or on vacation ~ go figure. Thanks for the thoughful post!
Love this! I’ll have to steal this idea!
